Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Diesel Fleet Mechanic I perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and lubrication on industrial equipment, trucks, trailers, automobiles, facilities and any other assets belonging to the company.
This position will also handle minor repairs or component replacement while performing quality inspections following the assigned checklist and guidelines.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for performing Preventive Maintenance tasks to include greasing and changing oil Tech will be trained on vehicle components and learn out of service criteriaTech will learn basic mechanical techniques, torques, and proceduresDocument repair operations and time tracking in accordance with company procedures.
Complete minor repairs to include but not limited to replacing light bulbs and mud flapsAssist in progressively more complex repairs to include but not limited to replacement of brakes, hydraulic cylinders, starters, alternators, etcWork will be auditedWear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required.Report immediately any safety violations and correcting unsafe acts or conditions.Comply with company safety policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.May be required to drive a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) not to exceed 26,000 pounds.Requisition parts as necessary.Wash trucks and equipment as needed and keep shop areas cleaned.Attend all training session as scheduled for continuing education.Other duties as assigned.
