OverviewWorkforce Development - Focus Factory Pipefitting InstructorLocation: Quonset PointTravel Expectation: EWA and/or Business Travel approximately 75%+Focus Factory Training (D973) is currently looking for an organized, self-motivated Pipefitting Instructor to support the strategic sourcing initiatives of the Focus Factories.
This position will ultimately report to the Strategic Sourcing Training Manager and will report to the applicable on-site training Chief.The Instructor will be part of a team, responsible for the training of supplier students in various courses related to various Pipefitting tasks, as well as additional related requirements.

Candidates must also be driven by a desire to develop themselves and others, and possess the ability to multi-task with a friendly, approachable customer service demeanor.

Responsibilities & Duties - The responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to: \nInstructing multiple trades related courses including workmanship standards, procedures & Safety Briefs \nDirecting and assessing hands on training with practice and tests\nEnforcing safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits\nAssessing student performance & identifying nonconformance to policies, procedures and technical documents\nSupporting various course content reviews and related activities\nConducting assessments as scheduled\nManage class rosters and training OQE submittal paperwork\nMeeting with Focus Factory Leadership regarding student performance as needed\nConsistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics\nCommunicate with other Training team members to advance work and communicate issues\nSupporting special training projects as required\n\nSupport the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assigned\nWork Schedule - The selected candidate will be expected to work the following work schedule:Work Hours:\nGenerally, 1st shift hours - Supplier site hours vary, flexibility is necessary\nAbility to work additional overtime as directed (including weekends)\nAbility to participate in Business travel (up to 75%)\n QualificationsRequired\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nMinimum of 2 years of pipefitting work experience at Electric Boat\nAbility to participate on business travel up to 75%\nExperience with MS Office and EB Business systems i.e AWPSS & SRT\n\nPreferred\nAdvanced educational course work including certifications, associates or other advanced education degree\nInstructing/teaching experience\nLeadership experience (working leader, MDU, SS ...ETC)\nProficiency with virtual technologies\n SkillsSkills \nHave a strong ability to prioritize and complete multiple complex assignments\nHave a strong ability to lead and direct in a classroom and workshop environment\nHave excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills\nHave demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)\nBe comfortable working in a fast-paced environment\nHave a strong willingness to think critically and problem solve\nHave a strong commitment to teaching others and leading student classes\nHave a demonstrated commitment to customer-service, safety & procedural compliance\nReady to learn and take on additional responsibilities and duties as needed\nReady to learn and teach new courses and team members with a variety of learning abilities\nHave the ability to engage with supplier employees in a professional manner\nBe comfortable with new teaching technologies and willing to adapt to new teaching approaches\nMust Be able to complete and maintain NDT requirements for Welding Qualifications\nMust be able to stand for long periods of time\nMust be able to maneuver throughout the facility and units to support all areas as required\n Physical QualificationsKneeling, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping Environmental AttributesCold, Fumes, Hot, Noise
