Plumber/Pipe Fitter (Union)

ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a Plumber/Pipe Fitter supporting the Deep Space Network DSN) in Fort Irwin, CA with JPL/NASA.The Deep Space Network is NASA's international array of giant radio antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions, plus a few that orbit Earth.

The DSN also provides radar and radio astronomy observations that improve our understanding of the solar system and the larger universe.

The antennas of the Deep Space Network are the indispensable link to explorers venturing beyond the moon.

They provide the crucial connection for commanding our spacecraft and receiving their never-before-seen images and scientific information on Earth, propelling our understanding of the universe, our solar system and ultimately, our place within it.The Plumber/Pipe Fitter installs, maintains, and repairs piping systems for potable water systems, sewer systems, LPG lines and plumbing services.

Responsibilities:\nMaintain and repair the domestic potable water system.\nMaintain and repair the wastewater septic, line and all related systems.\nResponsible for wastewater water sampling.\nResponsible for propane and gasoline/diesel dispensers and selected components of the underground storage tanks.\nAssist with all excavations on the Goldstone site.\nMaintain maintenance records in a PC database.\nResponsible for air compressor distribution lines.\nResponsible for all fire sprinkler piping, heads and pumps.

- we no longer maintain the Fire Suppression systems, we can take this out of the JD\nOversee the work of outside contractors on plumbing and septic related projects.\nPerforms other duties as required\n\nQualificationsRequired Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\n2-5 years' experience in related field.

\nYou must have strong knowledge of technical trade manuals, blueprint reading and of tools and equipment required to perform various plumbing maintenance functions.

\nYou must be familiar with the Uniform Plumbing Code and AWWA (American Water Works Association) its requirements for new installations, replacement and repair.\n\n\nYou must be able to obtain a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC).
