Job Description
The Transportation Engineer will execute technical work assignments on transportation engineering projects individually or as part of a project team under the direction of a professional engineer. This position would start in the Lehigh Valley or New Britain Offices and has the potential to eventually move to another G&A location.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Perform capital improvement transportation designs
Prepare State regulatory permit applications- Highway Occupancy Permitting
Prepare bid plans and specifications
Compose letters, memoranda, reports, applications and studies
Perform site investigations and field reconnaissance
Project coordination with Transportation and other discipline staff
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Organized and detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters and complex reports
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor
Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions
General knowledge of transportation engineering
Possess experience with Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD (preferably Civil 3D)
Experience with PennDOT ECMS document uploading/maneuvering and ePermitting processes
Comfortable performing in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment, and decision making
Must possess a passion for excellence and a drive for continued development and growth

Work Environment:
Work is generally performed within an office environment where the noise level is usually quiet to moderate. When work is performed outdoors on construction sites, conditions may vary by client and facility. Adherence to all health and safety requirements within the office, on construction sites and detailed within our Health & Safety Manual is imperative
