Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is an essential member of an interdisciplinary care team, responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, individualized patient care. This role supports best practices through evidence-based nursing, shared governance, collaboration, and professional accountability. The RN works closely with patients, families, and care partners to promote optimal health outcomes and exceptional patient experiences.

This position upholds the standards of the nursing profession, adheres to regulatory requirements, and supports organizational goals related to safety, quality, and service excellence.

Core Responsibilities

Exemplary Practice & Patient Outcomes

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver individualized care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation).

Provide culturally competent, relationship-based care aligned with patient goals and population-specific needs.

Incorporate evidence-based practice to support safe, high-quality clinical outcomes.

Communicate effectively with patients and families during shift reports, teaching moments, and care planning.

Teamwork & Collaboration

Coordinate safe and effective patient care using interdisciplinary teamwork and timely documentation.

Support a respectful, inclusive clinical environment, fostering collaboration with caregivers, providers, and support teams.

Participate in performance improvement projects, shared governance, and unit-based initiatives.

Professional Development & Initiative

Complete all mandatory education, competencies, and population-specific training.

Act as a preceptor or mentor for fellow nurses, students, and other clinical staff.

Demonstrate accountability for continuous professional growth and evidence-based practice.

Evidence-Based Practice & Research

Participate in data collection, research activities, and clinical evaluations to support quality initiatives.

Use evidence and expert resources to address clinical questions and improve outcomes.

Follow all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards of practice.

Resources & Support

Plan proactively for patient needs across the continuum of care.

Contribute to development and adherence of clinical protocols and procedures.

Use human and material resources responsibly and efficiently.

Perform additional duties as needed while maintaining compliance with organizational policies.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — Preferred

Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program — Required

Licensure & Certifications

Active RN License (Single-State or Multi-State Compact) — Required

Basic Life Support (BLS) — Required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) — Required (or provisional/instructor status accepted)

Experience

Minimum 1 year of direct patient care nursing experience — Preferred

Skills

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills

Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond appropriately to emergencies

Effective time-management and prioritization skills

Basic computer proficiency and comfort using clinical technologies
