Accounts Payable Specialist, Financial Shared Service Center - AMS

About the Team The ByteDance Financial Shared Service Center (FSSC) consists of corporate financial services such as accounts payable, travel and expense, and cash management.

We are currently looking for a driven and meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Los Angeles.

This position will report to the accounts payable team lead.

You will become an integral part of our growing finance team, working closely with global teammates.

The ideal candidate will be capable of supporting our businesses in Sao Paulo and Mexico City.

Responsibilities - Review the payment requests submitted to vendors or suppliers along with invoices or other relevant supporting documents, such as the financial terms stipulated in global contracts, and ensure that they are consistent with the outgoing payments.

- Demonstrate proficiency in the entire "procure-to-pay" or "vendor payment" process and is capable of responding to inquiries, handling escalations, and providing training to internal business teams regarding this procedure.

- Monitor the AP metrics report to achieve the team's objective for daily operations, ensuring timeliness and compliance, and mitigating payment risks, such as reducing the payment rejection rate, avoiding delayed payments, and preventing duplicate payments.

- Collaborate across departments to optimize vendor payment processes and initiate improvements to the processes or systems.

- Offer support for ad-hoc Accounts Payable/Accounting matters or auditing requirements.

Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field.

- At least 3 years of accounts payable experience.

- Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant systems technology.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, good team spirit, and ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions.

- Principled, flexible, and resourceful with a positive customer service mentality - Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving and financial skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy and dynamic environment with willingness to accept challenges.

- High oral, written, reading and listening proficiency in Mandarin is required due to system use, financial documents and frequent communication with Chinese stakeholders and medium proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is required due to market support for Brazil and Mexico and communication with international stakeholders in Latin America.

Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree or higher in accounting or finance-related field.

- Professional accounts payable experience at a technology or Internet company.

- Relevant experience in a large multi-national or global company.
