Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography

Job Details:

• Perform computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients under general supervision

• May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations as needed

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations

• Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations

• Analyze anatomical structure of patients, set up equipment and perform CT scans

• Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from body areas being studied

• Administer intravenous contrast media including utilization of power injectors

• Monitor patients for possible reactions and provide immediate care if reactions occur

• Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for procedures

• Assist Radiologist in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies

• Perform all imaging procedures demonstrating principles of radiation protection

• Resolve image exceptions and ensure high quality image delivery into PACS

• Complete all study indexing in the Radiology Information System

• Transport patients to and from emergency department

• Required certifications: BLS from AHA, ARRT (CT) certification

• Must have Associates degree in Applied Science in Radiology

• Minimum 1 year of experience working in this position in a hospital setting required

• Must have peripheral IV insertion experience or be willing to obtain training

• Prior experience working in fast-paced environment and independently required

• Must maintain required hours of continued medical education

• May be exposed to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and potentially contagious patients

• Occasionally may lift and/or move equipment and/or patients in excess of 10 lbs
