MACHINE OPERATOR

Location: Mebane, NC 27302

Pay Rate: $19.50/hour

Schedule:

Monday – Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Rotating Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Position Type: Contract (possible contract-to-hire based on performance)

JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Operator 1 is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining automated production equipment in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to quality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to support high-volume production. The operator will ensure consistent product quality, troubleshoot equipment issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up, operate, and shut down automated production lines, including changeovers and equipment adjustments

Perform routine and preventative maintenance; identify and escalate equipment repair needs

Troubleshoot machine faults and resolve basic performance or quality issues

Accurately document production, quality, and maintenance activities in compliance with GMP standards

Monitor operational metrics including output, scrap, and downtime

Utilize SAP to manage inventory and production data; use MES to support workflows and traceability

Pull and feed raw materials; manage inventory of components and finished goods

Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts

Provide input on SOPs and assist with training new team members

Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with housekeeping and safety policies

Support overtime and perform other duties as assigned based on business needs

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a regulated environment

Skills & Competencies

Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize deviations from specifications

Effective communication and teamwork skills

Ability to read, write, and interpret charts, diagrams, and perform basic arithmetic

Basic proficiency with PCs and Windows-based systems

Familiarity with SAP and MES systems preferred

Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and perform repetitive motions
