Job Summary:

The Network Systems Administrator is responsible for the effective planning, provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, optimization and maintenance of systems within the server, network and virtualization infrastructures. They participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation in infrastructure. They schedule and perform maintenance and upgrades to server, network, and virtualization systems in order to maintain system efficiency. They study existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develop new systems to improve production or workflow as required. The Network Systems Administrator II maintains server and network infrastructure integrity by using appropriate software and hardware solutions. They perform audits of the hardware/software to ensure compliance with the organizational guidelines. They keep a database/library of all supporting documentation for hardware and software. The Network Systems Administrator seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the server and network infrastructure he or she manages meet the needs of the organization, without exceeding the budget or timelines. To meet these needs, the Network Systems Administrator may acquire, install, or upgrade computer components and software, provide routine automation, maintain security policies, troubleshoot, train staff, acquire knowledge, develop supporting skill-sets, and provide technical support on projects.

Experience/Skills:

3-5 years of broad technical experience required

Experience with Citrix products including XenApp, XenDesktop, App Layering, PVS, and NetScaler preferred.

Experience with networking systems including switches, routers, wireless and firewalls, particularly Cisco.

Experience in the engineering lifecycle, including documentation and procedures, formal testing methodologies, implementation strategies, and monitoring techniques.

Experience with VMware vSphere or other Hypervisors

Experience developing engineering pilots

Experience with Microsoft Server 2008R2+ operating systems

Working knowledge of user profile management/virtualization systems such as WEM/AppSense

Working knowledge of Hyper-converged infrastructure such as Nutanix/Hyperflex

Working knowledge of Single Sign-On software such as Imprivata/Sentillion

Working knowledge of both Linux and Windows embedded thin clients

Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy

Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.

Demonstrated customer service

Strength in analytical, math, and reasoning skills

Effectively communicates verbally and in writing

Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications and Windows operating systems Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology field. Ten (10) years of network administration technical experience can be substituted for degree requirements. Certification/License:

Advanced certification in Cisco, Microsoft, Citrix and VMWare products is highly desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching, eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work is done in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
