Our client is seeking a Software Engineer to help design and implement innovative systems that support U.S. Government missions. You'll be joining a high-performing, agile team working on next-generation solutions for High Performance Computing (HPC) environments. From provisioning infrastructure with zero human touch to integrating open-source and commercial software, this is a role for engineers who thrive in fast-moving, mission-critical environments.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in:
Developing and deploying Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) solutions
Building secure, scalable Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms for HPC systems
Writing clean, efficient code in Python and leveraging Bash for scripting
Designing, building, and consuming REST APIs
Working with COTS and FOSS products to integrate, test, and deliver reliable systems
Supporting advanced mission systems that include:
Real-time data platforms
Extremely large data set manipulation
Advanced analytics and algorithm development
Data transport and monitoring solutions
Required Skills
Strong command-line experience using Linux CLI
Proficient in scripting with Bash and developing in Python
Experience working with SQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB
Hands-on experience designing and consuming REST APIs
Familiarity with CI/CD practices using tools like GitLab CI or Jenkins
Proficient with Git for version control
Desired Skills
Familiarity with messaging frameworks (Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ)
Experience with containerization tools like Docker
Knowledge of metrics and visualization tools (Grafana, Kibana)
Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Ansible
Exposure to Big Data processing
Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
