Job Title: Sr Java AWS Kubernetes Developer

Type: Contract

Compensation: $79.50

Contractor Work Model: Mostly remote, Hybrid days- Reston, VA

Job Summary

Seeking a senior Full Stack Java Developer to support multiple enterprise projects and assist teams migrating applications to the cloud. This role requires strong Java, AWS, and Kubernetes expertise, the ability to containerize applications, and excellent communication skills to work across cross-functional teams.

Required Certifications

AWS Certified Developer

Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and support enterprise Java applications (including Java 21 migration).

Support cloud migration efforts and help teams resolve AWS and Kubernetes-related challenges.

Containerize applications using Docker and deploy to Kubernetes environments.

Develop automation and integration testing scripts using Karate and Selenium.

Collaborate with DevOps and Platform Engineering teams on CI/CD and deployment processes.

Troubleshoot high-visibility issues and provide technical guidance across teams.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of software development experience

Strong Java / full stack development experience

Hands-on AWS cloud experience

Kubernetes and Docker containerization

CI/CD and working knowledge of DevOps practices

Advanced database experience (cloud and PostgreSQL)

Excellent communication skills
