THIS IS A DEPARTMENTAL PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITY. ONLY CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF THE HAMILTON COUNTY GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.

Under general supervision, this position requires senior level experience in application engineering and development involving the use, development and customization of geospatial web applications and database software; this position performs senior level management of spatial datasets, enterprise systems administration, as well as, design, development, and maintenance of the Microsoft SQL Server databases for applications for various departments of Hamilton County Government and partnered agencies to ensure accurate data processes and reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A Bachelors degree in Geographic Information Science or Computer Science. Five (5) years of experience in application development, Microsoft SQL Server administration, and geospatial data analysis. Must possess a valid drivers license.

An Associates degree in Geographic Information Science or Computer Science. Seven (7) years of experience in application development, Microsoft SQL Server administration, and geospatial data analysis. Must possess a valid drivers license.

The equivalent of a high school diploma and nine (9) years of direct work experience in application development, Microsoft SQL Server administration, and geospatial data analysis. Must possess a valid drivers license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor of Science degree in Geographic Information Science with a minor in computer science or a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree with a minor in GIS.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Prior to operating a County-owned vehicle, all employees are required to complete the HC Defensive Driving course and/or an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) provided at the department level.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, walking and occasional driving. Work also requires concentration on detail and working with computer keyboards for extended periods of time.
