Overview

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Senior .NET Developer Consultant to support application development initiatives for the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS). This role offers a collaborative, agile development environment focused on modernizing and rewriting legacy applications using Microsoft .NET technologies. *This is an onsite role working onsite at the Shipley building at 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, OH.*

As a Senior .NET Developer Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications while collaborating closely with IT leadership, project managers, business analysts, QA teams, and fellow developers. This role plays a critical part in modernizing legacy systems, implementing scalable N-tier architectures, and delivering high-quality solutions that align with ODPS standards and business needs.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and support .NET applications using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, Web API, Windows Forms, and SQL Server.

Lead or contribute to the modernization and rewriting of legacy applications into scalable .NET-based solutions.

Implement applications using N-tier architecture while ensuring compliance with ODPS coding standards.

Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, QA developers, and technical teams within an agile development environment.

Participate in requirements gathering, application design sessions, and technical solution planning.

Create and deliver presentations, demonstrations, and technical walkthroughs of application changes.

Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership support to other technical staff.

Support deployment activities and provide ongoing technical customer support as needed. Minimum Qualifications

Extensive experience developing applications using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, Web API, and SQL Server.

Strong experience rewriting or modernizing legacy applications into .NET-based solutions.

Proven ability to work independently on complex coding tasks within an agile development environment.

Demonstrated experience implementing N-tier application architectures.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong oral and written English communication skills.

Ability to pass a background check conducted by ODPS.

Experience working within public sector or government IT environments.

Demonstrated leadership experience providing technical guidance or mentoring to development teams.

Strong facilitation skills to foster collaboration and innovation across technical and business teams.

Experience presenting technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong time, resource management, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.

Proven collaboration, negotiation, and team-oriented mindset. What We Do:
