Our client, a leading financial services organization, is hiring a Lead Java Developer to join its Investment Advisory technology team. This senior individual-contributor role focuses on building secure, data-driven enterprise applications while serving as a Security Champion within the engineering group.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and test scalable full-stack applications across data, services, and UI layers
Deliver high-quality features for investment advisory platforms with a strong emphasis on security and reliability
Act as a security advocate, promoting secure coding practices and supporting application security initiatives
Build and consume RESTful APIs and work with structured data formats (JSON/XML)
Collaborate in Agile teams to deliver features in an iterative, distributed environment
Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers and guiding design decisions
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies to improve platforms and processes
What You Bring
12+ years of hands-on experience in software development using Java and related frameworks (Spring, Struts, JSP, EJB)
Strong background building enterprise, data-centric applications in regulated environments
Knowledge of investment or trading lifecycles and related compliance requirements
Experience with application security tools and secure development practices (SAST, DAST, SCA)
Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, DB2, MongoDB, Redis)
Practical experience applying software design patterns
Advanced Git skills and experience working in CI/CD environments
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
Proven ability to mentor and support junior engineers
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
Financial services or investment management experience
Open-source contributions or an active GitHub profile
