We are looking for a highly skilled Database Developer to join our team in Columbia, South Carolina. This position focuses on creating and optimizing Tableau-based solutions to enhance the analytical capabilities of the university's enterprise platform. The role involves close collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and IT professionals to deliver impactful insights that support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Create dynamic and visually engaging Tableau dashboards tailored to meet diverse reporting needs.

• Develop complex calculations, parameters, and data blends to ensure robust data visualization.

• Optimize Tableau workbooks for enhanced performance, scalability, and user experience.

• Implement security protocols, including role-based access controls for Tableau content.

• Analyze data requirements and integrate information from multiple sources to produce accurate reports.

• Ensure data integrity through rigorous validation and testing procedures.

• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable technical solutions.

• Present dashboards to users, gather feedback, and refine deliverables as necessary.

• Monitor and troubleshoot Tableau Server performance, resolving issues to maintain system reliability.

• Stay informed on Tableau advancements and recommend innovative enhancements to the analytics platform.• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in Tableau development, including expertise in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.

• Proficiency in SQL and relational database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

• Strong knowledge of ETL processes and experience in managing data workflows.

• Ability to create complex Tableau visualizations that support strategic business insights.

• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R is preferred.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Tableau Certification (e.g., Desktop Certified or Server Certified Associate) is highly desirable.
