This role will be filled in a hybrid capacity, with in-office collaboration in our Columbus, OH office 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will focus on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications.

Code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards and best practices.

Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to protect data and technology solutions from threats and vulnerabilities.

Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.

Adopts continuous improvement and learning.

Handles project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.

May Perform Other Responsibilities As Assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience: One or more years of technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, etc. Knowledge of the software development lifecycle. Good problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, such as competencies and experiences, may take precedence. Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the Director and HR Officer.

Working Conditions: Office environment may vary based on team and/or location. Associates may have on-call responsibility after normal working hours and/or on weekends.
