Overview
GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Data & AI Integration Developer to work in a remote capacity with the ability to go hybrid as necessary in Columbus, Ohio. This role requires candidates to reside within commuting distance of Columbus and offers a highly collaborative environment focused on enterprise data engineering, AI enablement, and modern cloud integrations.
As a Data & AI Integration Developer you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of organizational datafrom supporting high-performance SQL Server environments to engineering cloud data pipelines and integrating that data with AI and Machine Learning platforms. You will develop secure, scalable data systems, build and optimize automations, and support AI-driven solutions through prompt engineering, dataset preparation, and integration with cloud-native services.
Responsibilities
Database Administration & Performance: Install, configure, maintain, and tune MS SQL Server databases for high performance and high availability. Manage all aspects of database security, user access, and data masking to ensure compliance. Design, implement, and rigorously test backup and disaster recovery plans. Write, test, and optimize complex T?SQL stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
AI, Machine Learning & Automation: Design, build, and maintain integrations with third?party and cloud?native AI/ML services such as Azure AI and Google Vertex AI. Develop, test, and refine prompts for generative AI and LLM applications. Collaborate with data scientists to prepare, cleanse, and structure datasets for ML model training and inference. Automate data preparation, pipeline execution, and AI service monitoring using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
Integration, Cloud Engineering & Development Support: Set up, manage, and monitor data pipelines between on?premise systems and cloud platforms including Azure and GCP. Support development teams by reviewing and optimizing database interaction code in .NET (C#), with exposure to Java and Python. Develop test plans and perform hands?on testing for new software features, data integrations, and AI?driven functionalities. Create and maintain detailed documentation of data flows, AI integrations, system architectures, and business logic.
Testing, DevOps & Quality: Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects to maintain system stability. Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and cloud?based deployment processes, especially within Azure.
Minimum Qualifications
35 years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA and/or strong professional experience developing with C# and the .NET ecosystem.
Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex T?SQL queries and stored procedures.
Proven experience developing PowerShell scripts for automation.
Hands?on experience integrating with AI/ML platforms such as Azure AI or Google Vertex AI.
Demonstrable experience with prompt engineering for generative AI models.
Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and data preparation techniques.
Experience setting up and managing data integrations with Azure and/or GCP.
Experience with software testing, data validation practices, and producing technical documentation.
Working knowledge of .NET (C#).
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with ML frameworks such as scikit?learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
Working knowledge of Python or Java.
Experience with SQL Server high?availability solutions (e.g., Always On).
Experience using SSIS or Azure Data Factory for data movement and transformation.
Microsoft, Azure, or Google Cloud certifications.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
