Scrum Master
Role Overview
The Scrum Master enables high-performing Scrum teams by coaching Agile and SAFe practices, facilitating delivery ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring consistent delivery of value to customers. This role combines Scrum facilitation with traditional project management responsibilities, including status reporting, risk and issue management, and production release coordination.
The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of relevant experience, strong people skills, and a practical understanding of Agile delivery in complex environments.
Responsibilities
Serve the Scrum team and Product Owner by turning requirements into working, high-quality software.
Coach teams in Scrum and SAFe practices and ensure delivery processes are followed.
Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Track progress daily; identify risks early and work with the team to define corrective actions.
Remove impediments and limit external interference so teams can focus on engineering work.
Collaborate with the team on work scheduling, including defect remediation and refactoring, while managing technical debt.
Support production releases and ensure successful code deployments.
Manage and report on scope, schedule, resourcing, risks, and issues across one or more initiatives.
Extract, document, and clarify requirements with business and technical stakeholders.
Ensure product quality expectations are clearly defined and understood.
Balance technical and business priorities in partnership with the Product Owner and technical team.
Lead conflict resolution and foster collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
5–10 years of experience as a Scrum Master and/or Project Manager.
Experience managing multiple significant projects simultaneously.
Strong understanding of Agile and SAFe frameworks.
Practical experience scoping and estimating work.
Understanding of financial controls in project management or consulting environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with diverse teams.
Preferred Experience & Certifications
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and/or SAFe certification.
Prior experience as a Business Analyst and/or Tester (helpful, not required).
Practical use of quality management tools and techniques.
