Our Ideal Candidate
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for preliminary and detailed design of heavy industrial structures including concrete foundations, steel structures and buildings. Duties include estimating project costs; complex analysis and calculations; reviewing designs, drawings and specifications; performing structural assessments/inspections.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in heavy industrial structural design, preferably in a consulting environment
Registered as a Professional Engineer or EIT
Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
Technical competence and strong attention to detail
Proven leadership and mentoring ability
Knowledge of US steel design codes, familiarity with Canadian codes desirable
Experience in design of structures with seismic demand.
Experience in design of shallow and deep foundations for buildings, industrial structures and heavy equipment.
Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry and Chemical Manufacturing preferred
RISA 3D experience is a plus
