Overall
You will be responsible for executing and ensuring the accuracy of general accounting, financial reporting, and/or treasury operations. This includes recording, verifying, and reporting financial transactions, as well as contributing to financial planning activities.
Responsibilities
General accounting:
Coordinate and supervise general ledger postings, and in reconciling accounts using accounting tools.
Responsible for working capital cycles including inventory, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Responsible for financial health/ hygiene of accountings records by ensuring solid processes with adequate upstream controls
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures in line with best industry practice and statutory requirements.
Partner with the internal control’s team for risk identification and mitigation strategies.
Statutory Financial Reporting:
Provide technical accounting support and ensure compliance with IFRS
Responsible for month end and year end closing activities, including group reporting
Plan and coordinate month end and year end activities with wider Finance teams to achieve accurate and timely month end close.
Analysis of financial information and translating into actionable executive summaries.
Responsible for year end group reporting submission and produce relevant disclosure for annual financial statements
Financial planning and controlling:
Responsible for annual budget process by partnering with key business owners across the organisation
Measure the financial performance such as actuals vs budget analysis periodically and communicate clear results to Senior Management and Executives.
Build strong relationship with Internal stakeholders, ensure understanding of their operational KPIs, performance targets and organization structure.
Anticipate risk and opportunities, devise corrective measures and proactively reporting to Senior Management
Treasury:
Responsible for treasury operations including daily cash monitoring, funding strategy, supplier payments, periodic cash flow forecasting and treasury accounting transactions, including balance sheet reconciliations, Management Executive and group reporting.
Liaise with banking institutions for daily transactional banking and bank accounts maintenance, while measuring and reporting on their service levels.
Partner with Group Treasury, Legal teams and Finance leadership teams for bank mandates, solvency test & dividend distribution, guarantee arrangements, KYC renewal, loan drawdowns & repayments and loan agreements.
Responsible for forecasting currency exposures and implementing currency hedging strategy.
Partner with Group Treasury and Finance Leadership teams on implementing functional strategies in line with Finance KPIs. Be the operational lead for Group and internal treasury projects.
Be the gatekeeper for banking details on customer invoices at master data level.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive support to the Group Tax team by assisting with VAT, Corporate Income Tax, Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), and annual return processes, while ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration to meet compliance and reporting requirements.
Partner with the internal controls team for draft SOPs and circulating with business streams
Onboard and coach team new members on work processes and applicable systems
Collaborate with internal and external auditors as required
