Job Title: Backend Java Developer Location: McLean, VA (Primary) / Wilmington, DE (Secondary) – Hybrid (3 Days Onsite Mandatory) Rate: $65/hr on W2 (All Inclusive) Duration: 9+ Months (Possible Extension) Positions Open: 1 Experience Required: 7+ Years W2 Only Interview Process: 2 Rounds (Technical + Managerial) Note: Candidate must have prior Capital One experience.

Role Overview Capital One is seeking an experienced Backend Java Developer to work on building and maintaining robust ETL pipelines within its data ecosystem.

The role involves processing inbound files from external partners and integrating them into the Capital One platform using modern cloud and big data technologies.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines for data extraction and loadingHandle inbound file transfers from Discover into the Capital One ecosystemDevelop backend services using Java and Apache SparkImplement and manage workflows using AWS Step FunctionsBuild and maintain data processing jobs using AWS Glue and LambdaCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and reliabilityFollow Capital One SDLC, security, and compliance standardsSupport deployment and monitoring in AWS environments Mandatory SkillsStrong backend development experience using JavaHands-on experience with Apache SparkSolid experience with AWS services:AWS Step FunctionsAWS GlueAWS LambdaStrong understanding of ETL pipelines (extraction, transformation, loading)Experience handling file ingestion and data integration workflowsPrevious Capital One experience (Mandatory)Ability to work onsite in McLean, VA (preferred) or Wilmington, DE Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience working with large-scale financial data systemsKnowledge of data security and compliance in financial environmentsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesStrong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
