Staff Backend Engineer - Agentic Moderation

Who We Are We are building a new Visual Moderation product inside Cloudinary.

The team is small, fast, and operates in a startup-style independent environment while owning the full lifecycle from product definitions to operations, with meaningful impact, strong ownership, and the backing of a stable company with a fantastic people culture.

What You Will Do

Own and evolve the backend for a high throughput moderation platform

Design async pipelines and workflow systems

Handle large media volumes and multi tenant workloads

Run AI and ML inference pipelines at scale with a focus on cost and reliability

Ship iteratively while keeping long term quality in mind

Operate with high standards in testing, reliability, and observability

Who You Are

Exceptional backend engineer with 10+ years of experience, including deep hands on experience delivering web based production systems at scale

Confident working across the backend stack. We use Python, AWS, Postgres, Kubernetes, and Temporal

Experienced with cloud environments, distributed systems, queues, async processing, and monitoring

Some basic experience with DevOps work is helpful
