JOB TITLE: Process Engr JOB GRADE: EX06 FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT DEPARTMENT NAME: Process Engineering & Control DEPARTMENT CODE: QCT REPORTS TO: Area Manager I.

POSITION SUMMARY A.

Formulate and manage process improvement projects in all production areas.

Commission and debug new process.

Analyze data, identify bottle necks, and streamline existing processes.

II.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The section is not intended to be an all-inclusive list and NGK Ceramics reserves the right to include other duties as assigned): A.

Extract and evaluate data in order to identify projects that need to be worked on.

B.

Identify ways to improve processes and manage getting these done.

C.

Identify causes of defects and manage teams to eliminate these causes.

D.

Identify ways to better do processes and document in the work instructions.

E.

Identify root causes of problems and manage a team to eliminate these causes.

F.

Make drawings of new parts needed and all engineering work to make parts function as intended.

G.

Improve tooling, setup and productivity.

III.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES A.

The Process Engineer has no supervisory responsibilities.

V.

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A.

Required Education and/or Experience 1.

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or four to five years or more directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

B.

Required Language Skills 1.

Ability to read and interpret documents and reports.

2.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.

C.

Required Analytical Mathematics, logic, and ability to understand Engineering computation and principles.

1.

Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

D.

Unique Qualifications or Core Competencies 1.

Ability to multi-task.

2.

Must be a critical thinker.

3.

Ability to work on a team well.

E.

Other Required Skills 1.

Knowledge of basic machinery.

2.

Knowledge of test procedures and statistical analysis.

3.

Knowledge of Excel and Minitab.

4.

Proficient with AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

5.

Ability to give presentations.

6.

At times may be asked to do things not related to current job such as noise analysis and compressed air problem solving.

Safety shoes must be worn while on NGK property.

B.

The employee will work in multiple areas and will abide by any safety requirements; hearing, head and eye protection are required in designated areas or under prescribed work conditions.
