Position Summary:
The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining packaging equipment to ensure products are packed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining production flow and quality control within the manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Machine operation: Operate packaging machines to bag, wrap, box, or fill products, ensuring proper setup and alignment.
Quality Control: Monitor the production line to identify and correct any issues, such as spills and ensure products meet quality standards.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, some roles may involve trouble shooting and unjamming machines.
Material handling: Transport raw materials and finished products to and from the production area, sometimes using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.
Work Area Upkeep: Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required, technical training a plus
Skills: Basic math and reading skills are neccesary.
Technical aptitude and familiarity with machinery are beneficial.
Good communication and teamwork skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently on a production line
Physical Ability: The ability to stand for long periods and lift or move various weights, sometimes up to 50 pounds or more and work in a fast-paced environment.
Other: Familiarity with good manufacturing practices (GMP)
