FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Senior Purchasing Manager

Location: The Woodlands, TX

Amount of Travel Required: Less than 5%

Work Schedule: M-F, 8am - 5pm

Positions Supervised: Procurement Lead, Procurement Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading the procurement strategy and operations to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services at optimal cost and quality. This role oversees supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to support business objectives and maintain inventory levels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")

Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.

Manage the procurement process from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.

Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Collaborate with production, logistics, and finance teams to forecast demand and manage inventory.

Ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain disruptions.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory.

Lead and mentor the purchasing team, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.

Prepare reports and present purchasing metrics to senior leadership.

Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful platform operation, development, and business continuity. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Successfully pass background check.

Possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.

Consistent and reliable in person attendance. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES

Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of contract law and vendor management best practices.

Certification in procurement (e.g., CPM, CPSM, CIPS) preferred

Experience in global sourcing and logistics preferred

Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies preferred

The Purchasing Manager works indoors in an office setting, primarily sitting for extended periods of time at a desk station, keyboarding and using repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and or fingers. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus while reading and staring at computer monitor. They will also need to speak clearly and audibly, as well as have the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and /or other sounds (e.g., building alarms) deriving from in person speech, telephone, or other remote speech. No adverse environmental conditions are expected. While in the office, the Purchasing Manager may be called upon to stand, kneel, push, pull, reach overhead, stoop, crouch, climb, and lift; therefore, the Purchasing Manager should be able to lift 25 lbs. independently

Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
