What You'll Do:

As a Construction Project Estimator, you'll play a key role in our preconstruction efforts by producing accurate, strategic, and timely estimates. You'll work closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to evaluate project requirements and deliver competitive proposals that win work and set our project teams up for success.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposal documents for bids utilizing estimating processes and software.

Develop and submit all bid/proposal deliverables including but not limited to execution plans, technical approach narratives, past performance documents, project personnel resumes, etc.

Perform labor, material, equipment, and general conditions take-offs.

Review drawings/specifications thoroughly; develop RFIs for review by engineers, architects, and owners.

Identify and draft comprehensive and concise bid clarifications and exclusions.

Develop bid tabs and take all measures to ensure subcontractor and vendor proposals/quotes and comprehensive, accurate, and in compliance with contract documents.

Create and/or manage the creation of level 2 project schedules via Primavera P6.

Perform comparative analysis of various project delivery options, means and methods to ensure all cost and schedule efficiencies are captured in estimates.

Analyze, develop and present value engineering options that may generate added value to clients.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors

Lead estimate reviews, mentor junior staff, and help improve standard estimating protocols.

Prioritize incoming bid opportunities using internal systems; develop subcontractor RFP packages and solicit pricing from subcontractors and vendors. What You Bring:

Required:

5+ years of experience in preconstruction or estimating (public works, private-industrial, or both)

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software quickly

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Solid knowledge of construction codes, safety regulations, and standard practices

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Must pass a background check and drug screeningPreferred:

Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field

Experience developing federal/public estimates/proposals

Experience estimating civil and mechanical/HVAC work packages

5 plus years of experience in Civil and/or Mechanical Estimating

Experience developing full-scope proposals, including clarifications and exclusions

Active TWIC credential

Proficiency in tools such as:

Sage Timberline

On-Screen Takeoff

Pipeline Suites

Primavera P6
