Job Title: CNC ProgrammerJob Description We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop complex aerospace and defense components for multi-axis machining.
The ideal candidate will ensure tight tolerances and intricate detailing while optimizing CNC programs using advanced CAM software, such as Mastercam, to maximize efficiency and precision.
This role also involves designing and validating workholding and fixturing solutions for high-precision production, prototypes, and multi-operation machining.
Responsibilities * Program complex aerospace and defense components for multi-axis machining, ensuring tight tolerances.
* Optimize CNC programs using advanced CAM software (Mastercam) to maximize efficiency and precision.
* Design and validate workholding and fixturing solutions for high-precision production, prototypes, and multi-operation machining.
* Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and leadership to enhance cycle times, tool life, quality, and process stability.
* Create and maintain detailed setup sheets and work instructions to ensure repeatable, high-quality machining processes.
* Drive adoption of new technologies, including machine upgrades, tooling innovations, probing/inspection strategies, and automation systems.
Essential Skills * Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience, specializing in 3- and 4-axis milling for complex, tight-tolerance components.
* Proficient in SolidWorks for modeling and design tasks.
* Expertise in Mastercam with a proven track record of creating efficient, accurate programs.
* Skilled in designing, validating, and optimizing fixtures, tooling strategies, workholding, and setup plans for multi-axis machining operations.
* Comprehensive knowledge of machining characteristics across materials such as aluminum, steels, stainless, titanium, and nickel alloys.
* Experienced in process optimization, including cycle time reduction, tool life improvement, and setup efficiency.
* Ability to troubleshoot complex multi-axis machining challenges and provide hands-on support to machinists on the shop floor.
* Strong communication skills, with a collaborative, improvement-driven mindset and team-oriented approach.
Additional Skills & Qualifications * Mastercam expertise highly preferred.
Work Environment You will work the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with about 10 hours of overtime weekly on average.
The shop is very clean and climate-controlled, providing a comfortable work environment.
You will be part of a team of 5-6 programmers, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $50.00/hr.
