Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Progress OpenEdge Software Development Engineer to join our dynamic software development team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining Progress OpenEdge?based applications and systems. This role involves close collaboration with product managers, QA engineers, and fellow developers to deliver high?quality software solutions.

Basic Qualifications

Coding Capability: Strong professional?level coding skills

Progress AppServer (PASOE): Professional experience required

OpenEdge Tools: AppBuilder, Data Dictionary, ABL (Advanced Business Language)

API Development: REST API proficiency

Database: Strong SQL and relational database knowledge

Job Requirements

7 years of experience in application development and testing

Proficient in Progress OpenEdge technologies: AppBuilder, Data Dictionary, SmartObjects, ABL

Experience with Java or .NET and strong programming skills

Full SDLC participation: requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment

Code reviews and adherence to coding standards

Agile development experience

Strong troubleshooting and defect resolution skills

Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL

Commitment to continuous improvement in development practices

Preferred Skills & Experience

Progress OpenEdge Stack: ABL, RDBMS, AppServer (Classic or PASOE)

Microsoft Technologies: C#/.NET, WinForms, PowerShell, MS SQL Server

UI Frameworks: Infragistics WinForms

Web & Integration: REST Services, Web Services, 3?tier architecture

Scripting & Packaging: Unix shell scripting, Windows installation packages

DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD pipelines

Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS

Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Testing: Test Driven Development, automation

Version Control: Git, SVN

Architecture: Scalability, performance, reliability, usability, security

Domain Knowledge: Experience with banking and teller systems

Soft Skills

Excellent analytical and problem?solving abilities

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Educational Qualifications

Required Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or closely related or equivalent.

Preferred Masters degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Big Data or Analytics or equivalent.

Travel

Open to travel based on the nature of the engagement.
