JOB TITLE: Payroll Processor
LOCATION: NYC
Main Skills: Workday HCM, Some Workday Financials, general accounting principles, (general ledgers, journal bookings) etc. running and processing payroll.
· Candidate must have experience with Workday payroll application
· Experience with Workday HCM is specifically needed, and familiarity with Workday Financials is another plus (but not necessary).
· Knowledge of general financial accounting principles (general ledgers, journal bookings, etc) would be preferred as well.
· 2 months + contract possible RTH
· Payroll is processed every 2 weeks
· Need deep experience in running/processing payroll. Must be detailed focus and committed to meeting deadlines and producing accurate work
Job Description:
Processing employee payroll by collecting and verifying timekeeping data, calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and resolving payroll discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality and detailed records.
Job Responsibilities:
Collecting, reviewing, and validating employee timecards, attendance, and pay data
Processing payroll on bi-weekly with accuracy and timeliness
Calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions (taxes, benefits, garnishments)
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and company policies
Maintaining and updating employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, pay changes)
Resolving payroll discrepancies and responding to employee payroll questions
Processing direct deposits, checks, and payroll adjustments or corrections
Preparing payroll reports for accounting, finance, and management
Coordinating with HR and benefits teams on deductions, benefits, and employee changes
