Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to support our aftermarket repair and upgrade operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced technical proficiency in machining, pump mechanics, and rotating equipment restoration.
Essential Responsibilities
Technical Machining
Operate and maintain CNC lathes, CNC mills, and manual machining equipment with minimal supervision
Apply precise machining processes to repair pumps and rotating equipment per work orders and technical specifications
Read and interpret complex blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
Calculate and set machine controls for optimal performance, including speed, feed, coolant flow, and cutting parameters
Perform trial runs to verify machining accuracy and make necessary adjustments
Develop detailed specifications and technical sketches for part fabrication
Quality and Safety
Adhere to established quality and safety procedures
Detect and resolve machining malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions
Verify dimensional accuracy and alignment of machined components
Install replacement parts and conduct comprehensive functionality testing
Problem-Solving and Adaptability
Troubleshoot in-depth issues with rotating equipment
Adapt machining techniques, tools, and processes to meet specialized requirements
Anticipate potential challenges and develop innovative solutions
Required Skills and Knowledge
Advanced understanding of machining processes and rotating equipment mechanics
Proficiency with CNC and manual machining equipment
Expertise in pump mechanics and hydraulic systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Effective time management and task prioritization
Proficient in technical documentation and computer skills
Experience
2-3 years of professional machining experience
Extensive background in rotating equipment repair
Proven expertise with manual lathes, grinding wheels, and tool grinders
Demonstrated skill in hydraulic and mechanical system restoration
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Vocational or Technical Degree in Machining or Related Field (Preferred)
