Mobile Developers – Raleigh/Durham, NC
Our client is seeking experienced mobile developers – one is iOS focused and one is Android focused. These roles will substantially contribute to our client’s production codebase and test suite, and will work in tandem with other mobile engineers to produce a consistent experience across platforms. This can involve code review, participating in and leading technical kickoffs, and developing best practices. The role will also collaborate with the design team to implement a consistent and responsive UI that gels with both their product and the native OS look and feel. The right candidates for these roles will be focused not just on writing code, but being a great engineer, problem-solver, and teammate.
These opportunities are direct hires with a salary range targeted at $150,000 which includes a solid benefit package. Candidates can work remotely but their preference is Durham, NC or Seattle, WA. US citizenship is a MUST so please do not apply if you are on any type of visa or need visa support in the future.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain our client’s iOS or Android Study application and test suites
Work closely with mobile engineers to align mobile experiences and architectural patterns across platforms
Collaborate with the design team to implement UX changes and inform them of platform-specific behavior
Ideate with PMs to flesh out technical requirements, risks, and complexity
Work with the larger engineering team to develop and iterate on our values, best practices, and code style guidelines
Minimum Qualifications for the iOS developer:
6+ years of native iOS development experience in Swift
Strong knowledge of the iOS platform framework and Swift
Proficiency building UI in Interface Builder
Experience deploying apps to the App Store
XCTest framework proficiency
Preferred Skills for the iOS developer:
Reactive architectural patterns/RxSwift proficiency
Experience building UI with SwiftUI
Familiar with iOS accessibility best practices
Familiar with Android platform and Kotlin language, and able to understand and provide feedback on Android code
Minimum Qualification for the Android Developer:
6+ years of native Android development experience in Kotlin
Strong knowledge of the Android platform SDK and Jetpack frameworks
XML-based layout proficiency
Experience deploying apps to the Play Store
JUnit testing proficiency
Preferred Skills for the Android Developer:
Reactive architectural patterns/RxJava proficiency
Experience building UI with Jetpack Compose
Familiar with Android accessibility best practices
Familiar with iOS platform and Swift language, and able to understand and provide feedback on iOS code
Kotlin Multiplatform experience
And preferred qualities:
An engineer’s mindset - writing code that will stand the test of time and address the problems at hand, rather than focusing on quick fixes
A desire to collaborate with the team, knowledge share, and pair program to find optimal solutions and solve complex tasks
