About the Role
Venesco is seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect. This individual will serve as the Technical Lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the DEA’s Concorde enterprise platform, driving modernization, architectural design, and technical leadership across all software development efforts.
This is a key personnel role with direct accountability for technical architecture, enterprise modernization, and alignment of technology solutions with DEA mission requirements and federal security standards.Key Responsibilities
Serve as Technical Lead and System Architect for the Concorde Framework (application and database tiers).
Lead technical planning meetings, mentor team leads, and provide direction for all technical subject matter areas.
Oversee development teams to ensure adherence to methodologies, workflows, and security practices.
Architect solutions for enterprise-scale systems (10,000+ users, 500+ database tables, 100M+ rows).
Drive modernization efforts including cloud migration, DevSecOps adoption, microservices, and API development.
Ensure compliance with DEA and federal security, privacy, and records management standards.
Lead technical briefings and status updates for DEA senior leadership.
Support disaster recovery planning and implementation at geographically dispersed facilities.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field required; advanced degree/certifications preferred.
Experience:
16+ years in software development
16+ years in web application development
10+ years supporting and architecting enterprise-scale development platforms
6+ years with .NET MVC, plus 2+ years with .NET Core/.NET Standard
6+ years using Agile development methodologies
Proven experience architecting enterprise systems (10,000+ users; 500+ DB tables; 100M+ rows)
Experience with disaster recovery at geographically separated facilities
Demonstrated expertise with DevSecOps, cloud integration, APIs, and microservicesSecurity & Suitability
Active SECRET clearance (DoD/DCSA), fully adjudicated prior to assignment.
Must meet DEA suitability requirements (public trust investigation, drug use statement, ethics compliance).
U.S. Citizen with required residency (3 of last 5 years in the U.S.). Core Competencies
