The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a Revenue Cycle Services Assistant Manager for General Practice Residency and Advanced Graduate Prosthodontics Clinics in the Restorative and Prosthodontic Division. The division focuses on replacement of missing teeth and esthetic restorations through complete oral rehabilitation including an understanding of the dynamics of a smile, the preservation of a healthy mouth and the creation of tooth replacements. The faculty members are leaders in their profession, and you will work with respected clinicians and educators and work along with our residents to provide the best care for our patients. The two clinics operate with different procedures, objectives, cost centers, and scheduling needs.
The Assistant Manager is a working manager responsible for the daily operations, staff supervision, and revenue cycle performance of the General Practice Residency (GPR) and Advanced Graduate Prosthodontics (Grad Pros) clinics. The role combines leadership duties with hands-on responsibilities to ensure accurate scheduling, patient flow, documentation, fiscal integrity, and exceptional service to patients, residents, faculty, and staff.
This position partners closely with the Director and Manager of Revenue Cycle Services, Program Directors, and clinic staff to develop protocols, monitor operations, create outcomes reports, and maintain compliance with college policies. The GPR and Grad Pros clinics have distinct procedures, objectives, cost centers, and scheduling needs; the Assistant Manager harmonizes operations while honoring each program's requirements.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
The Assistant Manager is detail oriented with well-developed organization skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office in a business environment, a strong knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) software and ability to analyze patient data with a high level of accuracy. The Assistant Manager is a self-motivated individual capable of making informed decisions independently, open to developing and creating on-going process improvements, a strong team player with a high level of emotional intelligence and the ability to develop positive working relationships with a diverse population. This position educates and trains staff as needed
The targeting hiring pay range for this position is $55,700 - $72,700 based on education and experience.
Full-time position with regular office hours; Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.
Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 3 years' experience in dental care setting and an educational setting. Demonstrated understanding of management principles and staff supervision. Experience with healthcare scheduling, patient flow, and documentation. Strong communication skills; ability to coordinate across diverse stakeholders (patients, residents, faculty, staff). Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and report generation from databases/EHRs.
Desired:
Considerable experience in database development and maintenance; data collection methodology, analysis, and reporting. Formal training background (staff education/training program development). Familiarity with payer policies, coding standards, and denial management workflows. Experience with Workday (HRIS) and dashboard/reporting tools.
