Zayo is seeking a Cash Application Specialist who will be responsible for handling bank statements, customer payments preparing journals, cash receipts and working across multiple entities and currencies with special emphasis on receipts. They will work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to ensure customer account balances are accurate and reconcile any discrepancies.
Responsibilities
Creation of comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the repatriated cash applications activity (as currently performed by the US)
Successful execution of daily cash applications activity to ensure zero business disruption during the contract period
Identification of inefficiencies in the legacy us process and assist in the design/implementation of process improvements
Implementation of automation steps to reduce the manual time required to perform tasks, rendering this specific manual-heavy role obsolete by the end of the term
Reconcile customer accounts, move payments, credits and adjustments across accounts as required
Research all items in Unapplied Cash account and apply receipts to customer invoices
Collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Treasury and other departments as necessary to resolve any customer issues
Qualifications
Associates degree or higher preferred
Minimum two to three (2-3) years of direct experience with high volume/high dollar cash applications
Experience with Oracle Fusion and Salesforce systems a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills are required
Candidates must possess excellent analytical, judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to adapt to change
High energy individual with strong work ethic
Must be a self-motivator who is able to maintain confidentiality and multi-task
