Identity Security Engineer
Position type: Full?time, FTE only (not contract). Citizenship requirement: US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card).
Base Pay Range
$155,000.00/yr $165,000.00/yr (DOE)
About the Role
The Identity Security Engineer provides security policy, risk, and access management expertise. The role collaborates with cross?functional teams to identify, design, and enforce solutions that control access to internal systems. Key responsibilities include auditing network, system, and application security, ensuring compliance with federal and state data protection regulations, and implementing identity and access management best practices.
Employment Details
Hybrid/Remote work: occasional on?site days, few per month.
Travel: minimal, only for educational conferences.
Hierarchy: Reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Open to relocation for the right candidate.
Minimum Qualifications
H.S. Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience (or equivalent knowledge).
Team collaboration, project management, time management, and communication skills.
Strong analytical problem?solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Experience with authentication standards (MFA, JWT, Kerberos, NTLM, Passwordless, WebAuthN, etc.).
Experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, scripting (Bash, PowerShell, or Perl), LDAP, SQL, and web services.
Hands?on knowledge of identity and access management best practices; familiarity with Microsoft Entra, CyberArk, Okta, Ping Identity, etc.
Understanding of identity and access management technologies such as SSO, 2FA, PAM, FIDO.
Programming experience in C++, Java, Python, or C#.
Commitment to inclusivity and diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Security certification (CISSP, GIAC).
IS Security Professional certification.
Bachelors degree in IT, information security, computer science, or related field.
Experience with healthcare information systems.
Experience with network, system, and application security audits.
Solid understanding of federal and state laws protecting electronic protected health information (ePHI) and other sensitive data.
