Sr Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace - Los Angeles
Description
Our Client in the Los Angeles has various openings for Junior and Senior Manufacturing Engineers to work close with the Engineering Manager on multiple roles. Be a part of a motivated NPD and NPI team to develop manufacturing processes for new and legacy product lines, including tasks such as process improvements, tooling, manufacturing instructions and problem solving.
Main Responsibilities
Certifies the conclusion of the assigned tasks within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
Responsible to outline manufacturing/engineering approaches, in planning and scheduling work.
Delivers support in the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of manufacturing processes.
Provides input to plans, process specifications and procedures, production aids and assembly fixtures, MRP support studies, factory cost work standards development, and the like.
Assesses test and manufacture data, prepares technical analysis, indorses manufacturing methods and processes required to achieve design objectives on new or improved products and/or processes.
Provides technical assembly support relating to assembly drawing understanding, engineering change notices, rework, manufacturing complications and specifications.
Continuous improvement of manufacturing methods/systems for NPD & NPI processes to optimize product performance and cut down manufacturing costs.
Confirms that the quality policy is implemented is understood and maintained at all levels of the company.
Uses of six sigma practises as appropriate.
Requirement
Bachelor in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years' experience in similar roles.
Strong knowledge in manufacturing design aides and tooling.
Working knowledge for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
Experience in technical writing (work instructions, processes, etc.).
Familiar with reading and analysing scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media, tactful, confident, at all levels, internal and external.
Background in CAD design and drafting (GD&T).
Fluent using MS Office, CAD, LabVIEW, and/or statistics software.
Lean manufacturing and six sigma principles.
Skilful in financial and statistical analysis
Experience with assembling and testing Pneumatic/Hydraulic Valves and with pumps and hydraulic systems
Good Electronics understanding and familiar with PLC's
Desirable background in the aerospace and medical device industries.
Green Belt, Black Belt or Lean certification a plus
Experience in project management and leadership roles and strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation.
General understanding of materials flow and related processes, linking the Design, Supply Chain and manufacturing.
Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data. Takes assertive decisions based in analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment.
Shows original thinking and creativity; Meets challenges with resourcefulness; Generates suggestions for improving work.
