Job Summary:
As a member of the infrastructure team, the Cloud & Azure Systems Administrator manages and optimizes St. Dominic's Family Services' Azure and hybrid infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing systems. This role oversees identity and access management, virtualization, networking, and Microsoft cloud services that support clinical, residential, educational, and administrative operations. The position ensures compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards governing protected health information.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Cloud & Azure System Administrator manages and optimizes Azure infrastructure including virtual machines, storage, App Services, and networking, while maintaining the Azure governance framework, monitoring, and performance insights. This role administers Azure AD/Entra ID, including Conditional Access, RBAC, PIM, MFA, SSPR, application authentication, and lifecycle management, while monitoring login anomalies and enforcing Zero-Trust principles. In collaboration with the Cybersecurity team, the position supports HIPAA-aligned security safeguards for ePHI workloads, manages Defender for Cloud, vulnerability remediation, patch compliance, and supports security incident investigations and SIEM alert response. The role also supports hybrid infrastructure integration, backup and disaster recovery, automation using Azure Automation and PowerShell, vendor coordination, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Education & Experience
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certifications and experience
3-5+ years administering Azure and/or Windows Server environments.
Azure AD/Entra ID administration experience including identity governance.
Knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSG, Firewall, Private Link).
Strong skills in PowerShell scripting and automation.
Experience with Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Azure Monitor, Backup, and ASR.
Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Certifications:
AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate
AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer Associate
ITIL v4 Foundations
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
