Lead Electrical Engineer - CA - 1909
Duties and Responsibilities:
Report to Lead Systems Engineer for day to day electrical and systems technical expertise. Lead Systems Engineer or a delegated engineer will provide day to day assignments.
When required, serve as a technical focal for engineers, customers, and technical personnel regarding complex aircraft electrical and system issues.
Provide technical expertise for trouble shooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action for aircraft systems failures which will include, but are not limited to: pneumatics, hydraulics, water/waste, smoke detection, environmental control, cooling, oxygen, APU, and power plant.
Develop systems drawings that will be used to manufacture, assemble, and install complex aircraft component or systems. Analyze customer and project requirements and determine feasibility of design.
Design and plan system integration of existing or new equipment/components.
Analyze and check systems engineering data produced by the engineering group to ensure that it meets the necessary/minimum requirements for FAA certification.
Guide engineers and technicians/mechanics in the integration or repair of aircraft systems or components.
Ensure that FAA relations are typified by open communication, absence of meeting requests, and simple resolution of issues at the lowest possible FAA contact level.
Mentor engineers in the understanding of certification data development and regulation interpretation. Mentor engineers that may qualify as DER candidates.
Provide technical guidance in the minimum regulatory and testing requirements for D0-160 environmental testing.
Support on site requirements for aircraft modifications.
Support on site troubleshooting and resolution of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) malfunctions.
Coordinate with FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) and propose practical solutions on the development of technical data which will show compliance.
Coordination with Director of Engineering to define system design performance metrics for operational capability, reliability, and maintainability.
Responsible for completing global priorities as established by Director of Engineering.
Other tasks reasonably requested due the nature of your position.Required Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
5-10 years experience in a relevant technical discipline
Proficient on AutoCAD
Familiar with CFR 14-25 as they relate to electrical aspects of the aircraft
Able to travel in support of team projects, design or customer reviews, sometimes at short notice
