Manufacturing Engineer - Contract or Direct - WA area - 0916
One of our client in WA area are looking for Manufacturing Engineers to directs and coordinates product development and manufacturing processes in the plant; responds to engineering and manufacturing issues and concerns and interacts with customer engineers on design for manufacturing to insure products are produced to specifications and according to manufacturing schedules while ensuring efficient use of resources.
Duties
Confers with staff concerning product manufacturing approach, fixturing and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Proactively evaluates. Develops, and improves manufacturing methods.
Provides timely, accurate and competitive quotes of potential new business.
Determines the processes, identifies the materials and supplies to be used, and assists in the design of fixtures necessary for efficient and cost effective manufacturing.
Creates assembly instructions for new products to be manufactured.
Recommends and institutes changes (through documentation and training) in the production processes for efficiency improvement.
Confers with vendors to determine part, tool or equipment specifications.
Assists in Capital equipment definition, procurement, and implementation.
Knowledgeable and capable about Lean Improvement tools, with experience on implementation of such.
Confers with management, production team, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Qualifications:
Education - Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Mechanical Engineering, and 5 years' experience, or 11 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Must have the ability to: Read, analyze, and interpret common industrial, manufacturing and technical procedures, schematics, diagrams and blueprints, aerospace engineering drawings (including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing); Computer skills such as Word, Excel; attention to detail and critical thinking.
Write reports, business correspondence, assembly instructions and procedural manuals.
Respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or other members of the manufacturing community.
Speak effectively before groups of customers or company employees.
Mathematical Skills, Reasoning. Define manufacturing problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
