Our client in the Los Angeles area is a division of a leading design and manufacturer of aerospace products is looking for a Aircraft Systems Engineer responsible for providing support for their Company.

Job roles & responsiblities

Aircraft Systems Engineers are responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of various aircraft systems, including but not limited to avionics, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, and pneumatic systems. They work closely with other engineers, project managers, and technicians to ensure that aircraft systems are safe, reliable, and efficient.

The job responsibilities of an Aircraft Systems Engineer may include:

Developing system specifications and requirements: Aircraft Systems Engineers work with customers, project managers, and other engineers to develop system specifications and requirements for aircraft systems.

Designing aircraft systems: They design and develop aircraft systems using computer-aided design software (CAD), simulations, and mathematical models. They must ensure that the systems meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Conducting tests and evaluations: Aircraft Systems Engineers conduct tests and evaluations on aircraft systems to ensure that they meet performance and safety requirements. They analyze test data to identify and resolve any issues.

Troubleshooting problems: They troubleshoot problems with aircraft systems and develop solutions to resolve them.

Maintaining and upgrading systems: Aircraft Systems Engineers maintain and upgrade aircraft systems to ensure that they continue to meet regulatory requirements and industry standards. They may also perform periodic inspections and maintenance on aircraft systems to ensure their continued reliability.

Collaborating with other engineers and technicians: They work closely with other engineers and technicians to ensure that aircraft systems are integrated and functioning properly.

Documenting work: Aircraft Systems Engineers document their work, including system specifications, test results, and maintenance and repair records.

Ensuring regulatory compliance: They ensure that aircraft systems comply with regulatory requirements, including those set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory bodies.

Aircraft Systems Engineers typically need a bachelor's or master's degree in aerospace engineering or a related field. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
