We are looking for a service engineer to help install and maintain large and complex 3D
printers that 3D print ophthalmic lenses. It is an exciting technology that is still being
improved by a large R&D team. The 3D printers are large and complex machines, with
electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, vacuum, UV lamps, inkjet printheads, and more.
The Service Engineer will cover the full range of all machine aspects, to be able to install,
troubleshoot and maintain the growing number of 3D printers, in the new lab in Redmond. The
printers are still being optimised, and with every R&D improvement, all printers need to be
upgraded to the latest status. The Service Engineer works along with the colleagues to learn to
know all aspects of the technology.
The Service Engineer is part of the OPO Global Service Team and reports to the Global
Operations Manager. The work is performed at our site in Redmond and involves occasional
travel to other sites in the world.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Daily follow up of printer performance
Troubleshooting printer operations: work with the other Service Team members to
resolve
issues with respect to hardware, software and printing process for maximum machine
uptime.
Analyze printer performance and trends
Be involved in the roll out of newly released R&D functionality
Be part of new 3D printer installations and printer upgrades
Propose & discuss with Service Team printer improvements
Evaluate current maintenance strategies and propose & implement new ones
Support local team on executing DoEs (Experiments).
You understand what it takes to work in a dynamic environment industry and

You have strong knowledge and experience in providing technical service and working
with high-tech equipment
You are result driven and have strong technical interest to analyze and understand root
causes of issues
You are used to working with others in order to solve issues
You hold a bachelor or masters in Engineering with a minimum 5 years relevant experience.
