Position Description: The Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) Database Administrator supports the SharePoint database management system and develops coinciding web tools in support of U.S. Navy headquarters.

Minimum/General Experience: 10 years of experience developing and implementing Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) databases

Minimum Education: High School diploma

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

Above average experience developing and implementing database maintenance plans

Above average experience ensuring integrity and availability of MSSQL databases

Above average experience developing web tools using MS.NET, VB.Net and C# programming languages

Above average experience utilizing web tools for the management of SharePoint Portal accounts and other hosted websites

Experience with the development of Java scripts for data optimization efforts

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent attention to detail skills

Strong ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships

Strong ability to collaborate and problem-solve in a team environment

General Physical Requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on the location of the assignment.

Assignment Location - COMNAVSURFLANT (CNSL), Naval Base, Norfolk, VA; Consists of travel up to a 50-mile radius.

Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Typing, communicating, repetitive motions.

Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting.

Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.

Security: Must have an active Secret security clearance to be considered; Ability to maintain a DoD Clearance

U.S. Citizenship

DoD Clearance Consists of a review of up to but not limited to:

Covers 10 year period and in some instances lifetime events

OPM Security Investigations Index (SII)

DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII)

National Agency Check (NAC) records

FBI name check

FBI fingerprint check

Credit report check

A check of local law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction over the areas where the applicant has lived, worked, or attended school

Education check- Attendance and Degrees

Employment verification -may include interviews of supervisors and/or co-workers

Corroboration of unemployment

May include reference interviews

May include interviews of the individual, former spouse (s)

Confirmation of all residences

Verification of public record information

Acceptable Credentials

Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:

Develops project/program plans and milestones

Participates in program technical reviews, status assessments, project/program

planning, and project status reviews

Provides Software and Infrastructure Configuration Management services

Maintains change control documentation and validation as required in accordance with the CNSL Configuration Management Plan

Ensures subordinate command readiness and maintenance data is retrieved from various Navy systems, uploaded into the CNSL Portal, and validates that this data has been successfully integrated

Develops software upgrades and enhancements, modifies computer code, and conducts software testing in SQL Database and SQL software, SharePoint, and other programming languages and applications

Supports existing and ad hoc data extraction and reporting requirements

Supports Microsoft Office 365 Power Applications for end user support and collaboration efforts

Compensation & Benefits: The annual projected pay range for this position is $104,533 - $126,735 with consideration being given to various factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, job responsibilities, and geographic location.
