The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides behavior-analytic services to pediatric patients with a range of medical, developmental, and neurobehavioral diagnoses. This role emphasizes clinical excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, family-centered care, and data-driven treatment to support meaningful developmental progress and safe discharge planning.Key ResponsibilitiesService & Professional Conduct

Maintain compliance with organizational policies, federal/state regulations, and HIPAA standards.

Ensure the privacy and security of all protected health information.

Collaborate effectively with clinical teams and hospital departments.Clinical Excellence

Implement evidence-based ABA interventions aligned with BACB guidelines and current pediatric best practices.

Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and skill-based assessments for pediatric populations.

Develop, implement, and adjust Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) using data-driven decision-making.

Integrate medical, behavioral, developmental, and trauma-informed considerations into treatment plans.

Maintain current knowledge of emerging ABA research and pediatric behavioral health standards.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and physical therapists.

Create and update behavioral goals within the master treatment plan.

Supervise and train RBTs and other support staff.

Provide caregiver training to promote generalization and continuity of care.Patient Experience & Advocacy

Champion a compassionate, family-centered care approach.

Support caregivers through education, coaching, and ongoing communication.

Advocate for children with complex medical and developmental needs across healthcare and educational systems.

Promote inclusion in age-appropriate and community-based activities.Quality Assurance & Compliance

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and internal audits.

Ensure compliance with BACB Ethics Code, payer requirements, and hospital documentation standards.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records.

Monitor and analyze behavioral program metrics to ensure effectiveness and inform service improvements.

Promote a culture of safety and identify opportunities to reduce risks.Professional Growth & Education

Complete annual competency validations and required education.

Participate in conferences, workshops, and ongoing professional development.

Maintain continuing education requirements, including ethics and supervision.

Engage in peer consultation and mentorship activities.Financial Responsibility

Support efficient service delivery and productivity expectations.

Collaborate with administrative teams on billing, authorizations, and utilization monitoring.

Contribute to program development and sustainability.Other Duties

Perform additional tasks as assigned.QualificationsEducation

Master’s degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a related field.Experience

Minimum 2 years of ABA experience with pediatric populations.

Experience with children with complex medical or neurodevelopmental diagnoses (e.g., autism, cerebral palsy, genetic syndromes).

Prior experience in healthcare or interdisciplinary settings preferred.Skills

Strong clinical assessment and data analysis skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Proficiency with EHR and ABA data systems.

Cultural competence and adaptability.Licensure/Certification

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the BACB.

BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), valid for at least 6 months from hire date.

De-escalation training required within 30 days of hire.

Must maintain active certification and all required credentials during employment.
