Overall:
Traveling to surrounding HEA offices to provide coverage as clinic location(s) requires.
Provide superior patient care services, treating all patients and guests with compassion and respect.
Communicates effectively with others including but not limited to patients, guests, colleagues, and physicians.
Ability to work independent & be a self-starter
Must meet and adhere to HEA's policies and procedures, uphold to the highest ethical principles and patient confidentiality. Complies with all State and Federal regulations.
Other duties as assigned based on business operational needs.
Optician
Verify insurance and determine if prior authorizations or referrals are required for upcoming appointments.
Respond to patient's telephone inquiries and voicemails regarding medication, treatment, problems referring to the Optometrist as necessary.
Close-out daily batches promptly and with accuracy.
Optical Receptionist:
Ability to assess and resolve, when possible, patient issues regarding prescription eyewear.
Provides guidance and retains knowledge of vision insurance policies.
Review and verify accuracy of eyewear prescriptions.
Answering phones, collecting payment, processing daily reports, and tracking of prescriptions and frames.
Manages the efforts for properly filing insurance for eyeglass claims.
Process patient documentation and update patient demographics with accuracy.
Verify insurance and determine if prior authorizations or referrals are required for upcoming appointments.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES
ABOC certification by 1 year of employment.
EXPERIENCE
One (1) year office experience. Two (2) years medical office experience preferred.
