Racksquared, a division of Wasserstrom, is a data center hosting leader, providing hosting, cloud, storage and disaster recovery solutions. We currently have an opening for a Part Time Weekend Shift Data Center Operator located in our Data Center in Downtown Columbus, OH.

The Data Center Operator will be part of a 24/7 team supporting the data center operations and will be responsible for monitoring and validating system alerts, following standard operating procedures and check lists. This is an entry-level position and would be a good learning experience for anyone pursuing an education or career in Information Technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Monitors production websites and related systems.

Monitors production servers such as IBM I-Series, AIX, Windows and Linux.

Monitors for alerts and responds by following company standard operating procedures.

Maintains company tape library and changes tapes as necessary.

Monitors backups for completion.

Completes hourly checklists.

Monitors data center security systems.

Creates help desk tickets for customers and escalates issues as needed.

Check in of data center customers third party service companies following standard operating procedures.

Applicants must be proficient with MS Office Applications and have experience with a Service Desk or Trouble-Ticketing Software. Must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and have excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills with attention to detail. Must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a team player.
