QC Inspector

Job Description

Our client, a contract machine shop located in the Bridgeview area, seeks a Quality Control Lead Inspector that is eager to showcase their manufacturing knowledge and leadership skills. This is a 2nd shift opportunity, 4:30PM-3AM Monday-Thursday. This position offers medical, dental, and retirement benefits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure FAI, in-process, and final inspections meet internal and external specs.

• Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.

• Document nonconformities and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

• Help prepare for and participate in audits-including calibration (internal, customer, third-party).

• Lead daily inspection activities on the production floor; coordinate a team of inspectors.

• Help maintain inspection procedures, calibration procedures, checklists, and work instructions.

• Train and mentor QC and production to uphold quality standards and best practices.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing quality inspection, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.

• Strong understanding of quality control processes and inspection techniques

• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometer, height gauges, etc.).

• Working knowledge of blueprints and engineering drawings-including GD&T.

• Hands-on experience with First Article Inspection (FAI), non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action (CAPA) processes.

• Industry-specific experience (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical devices).

Bonus Experience

• CMM (PC-DMIS) programming/operating skills

• ISO familiarity
