Job title : Quality CMM Programmer/Quality Inspector
Salary : $31-37/hr

Location: East Aurora,NY
This is an hourly position that plans, coordinates, and directs a quality control program designed to support timely production of quality parts consistent with customers' requirements and established standards. Ensure training is done and proof of competency is documented. Implement cross training and identify backups wherever possible.

Act as mentor, initiate change to develop an effective manufacturing environment.
Contract/Quote Review
Determine quality requirements for upcoming jobs. This includes revision changes, initial runs, etc. Determine if a CMM/NEXIV program is required and plan accordingly
Review all rev changes and coordinate the creation of the inspection sheet(s); mark up prints as necessary
Review quotes coming in for potential issues for quality. This includes tight tolerance features and finishes that might hinder the job, questionable GD&T, missing dimensions, features that will be hard to inspect based on size and location, etc.
CMMs
CMM programming, including verification, validation, and proper revision control and saving of the programs.
Determine/design fixtures (stand-offs, clamps, vises, v-blocks, etc.) for CMM programs in Unigraphics (NX 10)
Create set-up sheets for CMM programs. This includes taking pictures, adding the pictures inside the CMM programs for greater clarity for the operator.
Diagnose and remedy CMM errors to determine the resolution needed to part fixturing and or program, etc.
NEXIV
Review, verify correctness, sign off of calibration sheets for the NEXIVs and the CMMs once completed. Scan signed certs into the network.
Inspection planning
Assign duties to current QS staff; prioritize based on needs.
Inspection
First piece inspections for machinists. In-process inspection for hard to verify features. Includes manual checks on complicated parts such as the MMAs.
Reviewing first pieces and in-process pieces when necessary for deburring; i.e. Qualifying edge breaks; final inspection reviews the parts visually.
Assist with gauging issues on the floor as needed.
Review and disposition in conjunction with production possible issues/nonconformances identified on the floor.
Assist production with any questions regarding quality requirements, inspection sheets accuracy, GD&T as possible; redline when necessary urgent changes.
Review possible process changes based on quality issues with Production.
FAIRs
First Articles form 1, 2 handled by final inspection; form 3 is handled by QS.
