Position Overview:

We are seeking an R&D System Operator with experience operating and maintaining complex mechanical and electrical power equipment. The R&D System Operator will be responsible for developing and executing safe operating practices for a novel mechanical system as part of a new product development process in the mission critical data center market. Developing safe operating procedures will involve reviewing system component documentation and integrating this into a cohesive operational plan. In addition to system operation, this position will involve the development and oversight of system maintenance tasks. This position is expected to be transitioned to part-time once the system has been commissioned and enters periodic operation. This is challenging work for an individual looking to expand their knowledge and capabilities in a strong growth industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility for the safe operation of R&D prototype power and cooling systems.

• Develop and document system operating manuals and protocols.

• Develop and document system maintenance procedures and safety policies.

• Interpret equipment supplier's manuals, drawings, cut sheets, notes, and sketches.

• Manage time and efforts toward completing tasks on time and within budget.

• Domestic and international travel may be required.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on thermal fluid systems or machinery.

• Minimum 3-years' experience operating high pressure and temperature power or process equipment.

• Experience with cryogenic fluid systems is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of engineering theory, principles, practices, and their applications.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience.

• Working knowledge of mechanical codes and regulations a plus (ASME, API, ANSI, NEMA, etc.).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Experience with Microsoft Windows and MS Office Suite tools.

• Ability to work independently and in a small team environment.

• Ability to interact effectively with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.

Additional Notes:

Works in an office environment. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
