Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Workforce Health Educator to join our Health Promotion and Engagement department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model.

The Workforce Health Educator will support the MAPMG and Delivery System Operations in the achievement of care and service delivery objectives and goals as part of Kaiser Permanente's (KP) Workforce Health strategy. You will be responsible for providing health education services to individuals and groups to help improve clinical outcomes for KP members and increase KP's physical presence at employer worksites through employee engagement.

Responsibilities:

Deliver health education interventions to individuals and groups using evidence-based models that incorporate behavior change strategies and adult learning principles, focusing on prevention and chronic condition management

Maintain accurate documentation and uphold strict confidentiality for all data collected during health education and training activities

Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of health education programs, materials, products, and services

Assist the On-Site Services Manager with employer group projects, including needs assessments, data collection, and related activities. Provide recommendations to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness

Actively participate in team meetings, staff meetings, and continuing education sessions. Offer and engage in peer consultation, support, and triage related to health education interventions

Promote innovative practices within established ethical and legal guidelines, adhering to organizational policies and procedures

Demonstrate commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and values, serving as a role model for the Kaiser Permanente brand

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in health education, nursing, public health, social work, behavioral sciences, health sciences, or exercise physiology/kinesiology preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in conducting health education interventions with individuals and groups.

CHES certification is required or must be obtained within one year of hire

Knowledgeable of health behavior modification skills related to improved nutrition, increased physical activity, managed stress, reducing/eliminating tobacco use, self-management of chronic conditions, etc.

Must be able to travel to medical centers and client sites across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area is required including, Virginia, Southern Maryland, and Baltimore

Must be able to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and early mornings to accommodate program delivery for shift workers

Must be able to commute to the Washington D.C. office on an as-needed basis

Strong knowledge of health education principles, adult learning theories, and instructional methodologies and demonstrated knowledge of cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of diverse populations

Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage others and proven expertise in group facilitation and training delivery

Capable of working independently and collaboratively, demonstrating enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity

Spanish language proficiency is preferred

Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area

Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment; Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment.

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $70,551.25 to $88,189.06, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
