CNC Programmer

Description
• Under minimal supervision, performs varied and complex tasks
• Programs, sets up, and operates a variety of CNC equipment
• Applies skills to perform functions of the position within assigned area
• Adapts new procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet the more complex requirements of the position
• May Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish some assigned tasks and goals
• Resolves most questions and problems, may serve as a resource on several topics, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels
• May orient, train, assign and check the work of other employees
• Uses computer-aided software such as CAM/SolidWorks, Understanding orders of operation
• Writes the formulas necessary to program mills and lathes using CAM software
• Maintains constant communications with Production and Leadership teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
• Reduces set-up times and decreases cycle times for maximum efficiency
• Designs and develops process aids and fixtures
Details:
• Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and on-the-job experience
• Completes a variety of atypical assignments
• Works within defined processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments
• Works with a limited degree of supervision
• Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education and Experience
• High School w/3-6+ years' experience or AA/AS/Technical School w/1-3 years' experience
Physical demands and abilities
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds
• Able to stand for entire shift
• Regularly performs repetitive tasks
• Regularly possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
